Acoustic performance at the Frankfurt Musikmesse
Civilization One will perform a series of special acoustic sets at the Frankfurt Musikmesse on April 2nd to 4th at the Variphone booth. Chitral "Chity" Somapala (vocals) and Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (bass) will play a selection of songs from their debut "Revolution Rising" in an acoustic form (Pierre-Emmanuel will handle the guitar). There will be several sets every day over the 3 days, so stay tuned to the official Myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/civilizationone) for the exact schedule.
MESSAGE TO THE FANS
We had various line-up changes due to several reasons, but difficult decisions have to be made at times in life, whether we like it or not. On the bright side of 2008, we were able to attract many metal fans in Pearl of The Orient (Sri Lanka), as we played a tremendous show in the capital of Colombo on november 29th.Close to 4,000 screaming fans witnessed the first ever show in the country by a Western metal band (you can check many pictures of the show at www. myspace. com/civilizationone As a result, we will release our debut "Revolution Rising" as a special edition in Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives in 2009 for all those die hard fans. We will come back to Sri Lanka and hopefully other parts of southeast Asia, with the release of our 2nd album „Calling the Gods“.
We are also happy to announce that from now on, LOUDTIMES MUSIC/EVENTS (UK) will take over worldwide booking/management for our future activities and we are looking forward to working with this dynamite company.
As we promised, we are working hard on our 2nd Album "Calling the Gods", as we wish to deliver it to you as soon as possible with our newly joined members Michael Stein (ex-DORNENREICH) on drums and Englishman Tim Mills (ex-ICED EARTH, ELKIE BROOKS) on guitar. We will update you regularly on all the happenings on that front.

CIVILIZATION ONE LIVE AT SRI LANKA
CIVILIZATION ONE, the band led by singer Chitral "Chity" Somapala (ex-Firewind, Faro, Avalon) and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE, ex-HEAVENLY), has scheduled a concert at the SLECC (Sri Lanka Exibition and Convention Center) on the 29th of November 2008 for the TNL Onstage show in COLOMBO/SRI LANKA.
It will mark the first time a Western metal band plays in Sri Lanka, and will be a homecoming for Chity Somapala, the Sri Lankan-born singer who has been living in Europe for 22 years after doing the remarkable "Lion Beer Song" which was played on Radio/TV Commercials right through out the country and even at International Cricket Events.
TNL Onstage is organized by TNL RADIO, the biggest radio station in the country, and will present Sri Lanka's finest bands along CIVILIZATION ONE. It will also be the first show with new members Michael Stein (ex-ANCIENT CEREMONY, DORNREICH) on drums and Kai Mühlenbruch (GALLOGLASS, SEVENTH AVENUE) on guitar.

CIVILIZATION ONE Add ex-NECROPHAGIST guitarist to lineup!
CIVILIZATION ONE are pleased to announce the addition of Christian Münzner (MAJESTY; ex-NECROPHAGIST) as a 2nd lead guitarist. Chris is a neoclassical shred monster who will add another dimension to the CIVILIZATION ONE musical attack.
The band's new songwriting necessitated adding another guitarist to the fold, as it would have been impossible for a single guitarist to perform all of the parts live. Now the band will have the classic two guitar lineup which they envisioned since their formation -- with an emphasis on dueling leads -- as exemplified by such heavy metal greats JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, NEVERMORE, and ARCH ENEMY. CIVILIZATION ONE will no longer have a keyboard player in the band.
REVOLUTION RISING RELEASE PARTY
CIVILIZATION ONE, the international neoclasical power metal band which features in its ranks vocalist Chity Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, AVALON), guitarist Aldo Lanobile (SECRET SPHERE), drummer Luca Cartasegna (ex-SECRET SPHERE), and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE; ex-HEAVENLY), will be having their record release show on Friday, September 21, 2007 at The Exhaus in Trier, Germany. The group will be celebrating the release of their debut album, "Revolution Rising" (out now in Europe on Metal Heaven Records; it will be released by Spiritual Beast Records in Japan on September 26th, and include the bonus track "Out In The Rain".
CIVILIZATION ONE will be performing live the "Revolution Rising" album in its entirety. Also on the bill will be one of the best METALLICA tribute bands, MORETALLICA, banging out all of the METALLICA classics, as well as local favorites THE MIST and STATEMENT OF CLAIM (who won the "The Local Hero young bands battle". Doors open at 20:00, with first band on at 20:30. Admission is 12 Euro.

CIVILIZATION ONE is an international musical entity comprised of musicians from Sri Lanka, Italy, France, and Brazil. "Revolution Rising" is their debut release, an album which the band produced themselves and recorded at studios in France, Italy, and Germany, with mixing and mastering by Markus Teske (VANDEN PLAS, DOMINICI, SYMPHONY X) at Bazement Studios in Germany. "Revolution Rising" features 10 songs, including "Life Of Agony," "Legends Of The Past (Carry On), and "Time Will Tell."
CIVILIZATION ONE was started by vocalist Chitral "Chity" Somapala (highly regarded for his work with AVALON, FIREWIND, FARO, MOONLIGHT AGONY and RED CIRCUIT) and guitarist Aldo Lanobile (whose band, SECRET SPHERE, released 2 albums on Nuclear Blast Records). Chity and Aldo wanted to create a band that combined heavy, aggressive guitar riffs with the melodic sensibilities of classical music, and featured memorable vocal lines and choruses, such as those created by the legendary, classic bands of heavy metal.
The first person they asked to join their musical quest was drummer Luca Cartasegna, who had recorded 3 albums with Aldo in SECRET SPHERE. The next player on board was bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson, whom Chity was quite familiar with, as his former group, acclaimed French power metal act HEAVENLY, had toured with Chity's band at the time, AVALON. Chity knew that Pierre-Emmanuel would be the perfect player to hold own the bottom end with his aggressive bass playing style. The last piece of this musical puzzle was completed by keyboard player Jesper Stotz (who originally hails from Brazil). Chity had been in correspondence with Jesper over the years, and asked him to join the band as he knew that his virtuoso skills and compositional brilliance would enable them to explore all the different atmospheres that a band like CIVILIZATION ONE require.
With the band now in place that could achieve Chity and Aldo's musical vision, this musical unit set upon writing an album of timeless heavy metal with neoclassical, symphonic aggression. The band conducted extensive writing sessions in Germany and Italy, with Chity and Aldo creating the main framework, and the rest of the band contributing their unique talents to the compositions.
After they had finished writing the album, the band knew that they had surpassed all of their original aspirations for CIVILIZATION ONE, evidence which will be heard by all on "Revolution Rising".
